Terms & Privacy
DeviceLab connects app teams with testers to support real-device testing, feedback, and evidence review. These terms explain how missions, accounts, credits, content, and privacy work on the platform.
01. Introduction & acceptance
What these rules cover
DeviceLab helps app teams find testers and receive structured feedback. By creating an account or using DeviceLab, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy sections below. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
The platform provides matching, evidence collection, review tools, communication, and credit accounting. Each mission may include additional instructions that apply when you join it.
02. Definitions
Words used in this agreement
A “tester” is a person who joins a mission and tests an app. A “mission owner” is the user who publishes a test. A “mission” is a request to test an app under stated conditions. “Evidence” includes reports, answers, screenshots, videos, logs, and files submitted through DeviceLab. “Credits” are platform units shown in your account, not a promise of cash payment.
03. User accounts & eligibility
Accurate details and account security
Provide accurate account details, keep your sign-in credentials private, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for actions taken through your account. Do not create accounts to evade a restriction or misrepresent your identity.
04. Devices & permissions
Register only devices you may use
Register devices that you own or are authorized to use. Device details are used to match tests and describe the environment in which you tested. Grant access to photos, files, camera, microphone, or notifications only when you choose a feature that needs it. You can decline optional permissions, though the related feature may not work.
05. Testing missions & assignments
Follow the mission instructions
Review the app, device requirements, steps, deadlines, reward, and evidence requirements before joining. Test the stated build and report what you actually observed. Do not claim work you did not perform. Owners are responsible for clear, lawful mission instructions and for having permission to distribute the app and test materials.
06. Reports, evidence & reviews
Submit genuine and relevant evidence
Submit accurate reports and evidence that relate to the mission. Do not alter evidence to mislead reviewers or upload another person’s private information without permission. Mission owners and authorized DeviceLab administrators may view the evidence needed to review a submission, resolve a complaint, or keep the platform safe.
07. Credits & rewards
Rewards depend on mission rules and review
The mission card and confirmation screens show the applicable credit reward and requirements. Rewards are earned only when the required work is submitted and approved under the mission rules. A submitted report or check-in is not automatically approved. Credits are platform units; they are not cash unless a separate feature expressly says so.
08. Community, ratings & communication
Treat other users fairly
Use chat, reviews, ratings, and complaint tools for their intended purpose. Do not harass, threaten, bully, send spam, manipulate ratings, impersonate another person, or expose private information. Do not post hateful, sexually explicit, violent, fraudulent, illegal, or malware-related content. Use Report on a public mission, user profile, or chat message to alert DeviceLab moderators; you can also block users. Moderators review reports and may restrict access or block accounts to protect users and the service.
09. Prohibited activity
No fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
Do not submit fabricated evidence, automate activity to misrepresent testing, exploit bugs for unfair rewards, bypass security controls, distribute malware, interfere with other users, or use DeviceLab to violate law or third-party rights. We may reject work, reverse affected credits, suspend an account, or restrict access when there is credible evidence of abuse.
10. Your content & platform license
You keep ownership of what you submit
You retain rights to content you create. You give DeviceLab permission to host, process, display, and share your submissions with the mission owner and authorized reviewers as needed to operate testing, review evidence, resolve complaints, and secure the service. You confirm you have the rights needed to submit that content.
11. Third-party services & links
Some features rely on other providers
DeviceLab may link to Google Play, Google Groups, external build hosts, and other services. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Google services support sign-in and notifications; Google Mobile Ads may process data when you choose a rewarded-ad feature. Analytics collection is enabled in production releases only. DeviceLab does not control external links or guarantee external files.
12. Privacy & how data is used
Data needed to run testing
DeviceLab processes account details such as your name, username, and email; registered device details; mission and assignment activity; reports, evidence, messages, ratings, and credit records; and technical information needed for security and reliability. We use this information to provide accounts, match tests, review work, deliver notifications, prevent abuse, support users, and maintain the service.
Relevant information is shared with mission owners and authorized reviewers when needed for testing and review, and with service providers that host, secure, deliver, or support DeviceLab. Google sign-in, push notifications, and rewarded ads use their respective Google services. We do not use your password as profile content or disclose it to mission owners.
13. Security & data retention
Protecting information and uploaded files
DeviceLab uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account information and uploaded content. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We keep information while it is needed to provide the service, review active work, handle disputes, protect against fraud, meet legal obligations, and enforce these terms. File retention and deletion status may depend on the feature and are shown in the app where available.
14. Account deletion
Request deletion from your profile
You may request permanent deletion of your DeviceLab account from Profile > Delete account. We will verify the request and delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed. Limited information may be retained where required for legal compliance, account security, fraud prevention, unsettled credits, or dispute resolution. We will explain the request status and any data that must be retained.
15. Service availability, changes & contact
Updates and questions
DeviceLab may update features or these terms as the service changes. We will update the version and effective date when we publish a material revision. Some features may be unavailable or change without notice. For questions about a mission, use its in-app report or complaint tools. For privacy questions, use the developer contact published with the DeviceLab app listing.
